Rewind to moving season, which collides with our national holiday. it wasn’t quite Canada day, maybe it was the day after. Tired movers look forward to cracking open their cases of beer. The humidex wasn’t at its peak, but it wasn’t cool to say the least.
Before they drove off to freedom, two girls had to use the bathroom. One last piss in the pot, as they say. In the living room were two abandoned decks. One rides a bit wonky and the owners had no recollection of their acquisition. A forgotten item at a party once held, they assume.
What to do with unused, broken decks? The plight of the skateboarder can be the sound of the crack. I can compare it to my first broken hockey stick. You develop such a relationship and then >CRACK< you just lost a best friend.
Around a month ago, I heard about this project but more the pictures and less the details. Now that there’s a video and I feel more inclined to share the project.
Shwood experiments with life and creative pursuits. The woodshop seems like a magical place where decks get turned into sunglasses. I don’t care that wood isn’t the best material for glasses. I care that people run with their ideas. I about inspired and inspirational individuals.
This post goes out to my best friend Sarah, Happy Birthday (14hoursearly). Here’s to hoping our fishfriend never cracks.
